Edcoat Coil Coating Process

Raw coil is mounted on an unwinder. This is routed to a degreasing station, passed through an accumulator, and then routed to a cleaning section, followed by a drying area.

A chemical conversion coating is applied to the strip by a roll coater. Both sides of the strip are primed and then are routed to the finish coaters. Each process is followed by oven curing.

During processing, samples of painted coil are analyzed by the Quality Control lab to assure that the high quality standards of customers are met to their satisfaction. Edcoat can then level, emboss, or split coils and has a fully automated 60-inch slitter to slit and wrap coils.
