Entex Siding Full Warranty

Who and What are Covered. EDCO Products, Inc. (“EDCO”) warrants to the original homeowner(s) owning the home at the time of installation (hereafter “You”, “Your”, or “Homeowner”) that its EDCO Steel Siding with Entex® finish (the “Siding Product”) will be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship if installed according to EDCO’s applicable specifications, subject to the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty. If EDCO determines, in its sole discretion, that the Siding Product has a manufacturing defect under the terms of this Limited Warranty, EDCO will, at its option and subject to the limitations that follow, either (1) pay to repair, replace, or refinish any Siding Product it determines has a manufacturing defect, or (2) refund the amount paid by the Homeowner for the Siding Product, plus where applicable as indicated in coverage below, the cost of the labor of the original installation. Manufacturing defects include cracking, chipping, peeling or splitting of the Entex finish, as well as perforation or deterioration of the steel substrate due to rust.

This Limited Warranty extends only to (i) the first Homeowner of the home to which the Siding Product is applied, provided the Homeowner provides proof of purchase and has registered the warranty within sixty (60) days of the installation, and (ii) the first transferee of the Homeowner provided the transfer may only be made within 20 years of the installation of the Siding Product. Homeowners only include individuals, not entities (for example, Homeowners do not include corporations, limited liability companies, trusts, etc.).

For commercial or Homeowners Associations, this Limited Warranty is non-transferable and includes full coverage for materials and installation labor for twenty (20) years from the date of installation. Coverage beyond 20 years includes material only and the dollar amount of coverage decreases to take into account depreciation by 10% per year with coverage ending after thirty (30) years.

Registration of the Warranty. To activate this Limited Warranty, the Homeowner must complete, sign and mail the warranty certificate to EDCO Products, Inc., at 8700 EXCELSIOR BLVD., HOPKINS, MN 55343, within sixty (60) days after completion of installation of the Siding Product on Your existing home, or the date of Your purchase of Your newly constructed home. When making a claim, You must provide original proof of purchase of the Siding.

Warranty Transfer: To transfer the Limited Warranty, the transferee must be an individual and not an entity, and the Homeowner or the first transferee must provide EDCO with written notice of the transfer of the property along with payment of a $100.00 transfer fee within sixty (60) days of the property transfer. The notice of transfer must include the original Homeowner’s name as registered with EDCO on the original warranty registration, the name of the first transferee, the certificate registration number, and the date the Siding Product was installed. Upon transfer, the dollar amount of coverage under this Limited Warranty decreases to take into account depreciation by 10% per year, and the Limited Warranty will cover materials only.

Period of Coverage. Subject to the limitations contained in this warranty, EDCO warrants the Siding Product as follows:

  • If Your Siding Product shows manufacturing defects within the first twenty (20) years from the date of installation, upon Your paying a $100.00 processing fee payable by check to EDCO for each claim under this warranty, EDCO, at its option, will either repair, refinish or replace the defective Siding Product up to Your full original cost of materials and installation labor, at no charge to You, or refund the purchase price of the Siding Product subject to the limitations outlined in this Limited Warranty. If Your Siding Product was installed less than three (3) years prior to Your claim, EDCO will waive the $100.00 processing fee.

  • For Siding Product installed more than twenty (20) years prior to the claim, upon Your paying a $100.00 processing fee payable by check to EDCO for each claim under this warranty, EDCO, at its option, will either repair, refinish or replace the defective Siding Product up to Your full original cost of materials, at no charge to You, or refund the purchase price of the Siding Product subject to the limitations outlined in this Limited Warranty. Coverage beyond 20 years from the date of installation includes material only and the dollar amount of coverage decreases to take into account depreciation by 10% per year, but will not decrease to less than 10% of Your full original cost of materials for as long as You own Your home.

  • If Your Siding Product shows a color fade of more than 5 Delta E units (NBS) caused by normal weathering or ultraviolet exposure after removal of foreign surface deposits within the first thirty (30) years from the date of installation, upon Your paying a $100.00 processing fee payable by check to EDCO for each claim under this warranty, EDCO, at its option, will either repair, refinish or replace the defective Siding Product up to Your full original cost of materials and installation labor, at no charge to You, or refund the purchase price of the Siding Product subject to the limitations outlined in this Limited Warranty.

  • The Hail Protection Warranty for the Siding Product is fifty (50) years beginning on the date of installation and applies only to embossed surfaces. Non-embossed surfaces are excluded from Hail Protection. This Hail Protection Warranty is available only in the Continental United States. “Hail Damage” is defined as a crack or chip in the finish or dent in the substrate of the Siding Product that exceeds 3/8 inch. Damage caused by hail more than 2” in diameter is not covered. In the event of hail damage incurred during the warranty period, the Homeowner must pursue the cost of repair or replacement of damaged material through all applicable insurance coverage, including homeowner’s insurance, before notifying EDCO. After You exhaust Your insurance coverage, if You have any cost that You have incurred in purchasing Siding Product necessary to replace the hail damaged Siding Product on Your home, and these costs are in excess of Your total insurance coverage (excluding Your insurance deductible), upon Your payment to EDCO by check of a $100.00 processing fee, EDCO will assume the difference between what Your insurance coverage covers and the cost of the material to repair or replace only the damaged Siding Product panels.

Limitations to Coverage. This limited warranty covers only Siding Product installed on homes. It does not cover motor homes, recreational vehicles, or Siding Products used in roofing applications. If the Siding Product is received damaged or defective, it is the responsibility of the installer to report the same to EDCO and to not install the Siding Product. This limited warranty does not apply to Siding Product damaged due to faulty or improper storage, transportation, installation, application, use of accessories that do not properly receive or secure the panels, settlement, shrinkage, distortion, warping, canning, failure or cracking of the wall or materials to which the siding is applied, earthquake, hurricane, tornado, cyclone, gale winds, lightning, fire, Acts of God, flood, wind-borne objects, ice or weather of a catastrophic nature as defined by the United States Weather Bureau, harmful chemicals, surface discoloration due to air pollution, normal wear and tear or weathering of surface; fumes, vapors or salt spray directly applied to the siding or in the atmosphere (corrosion or rust is not covered when the Siding Product is installed within one (1) mile of a saltwater environment); lap abrasion, vandalism, misuse, physical abuse, riot, insurrection or civil disorder; or negligence in or failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance of the siding. EDCO IS NOT LIABLE TO THE HOMEOWNER FOR BREACH OF ANY WRITTEN OR ORAL EXPRESS WARRANTIES, SUCH AS THOSE, IF ANY, GIVEN BY DEALERS, CONTRACTORS, APPLICATORS OR DISTRIBUTORS OF THE SIDING PRODUCT. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE SOLE WARRANTY PROVIDED BY EDCO. EDCO DISCLAIMS TO THE FULLEST DEGREE ALLOWABLE BY LAW: 1) ANY OTHER WARRANTIES WHETHER WRITTEN, ORAL, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE; AND 2) ANY INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES. YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE SIDING PRODUCT, OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE AND LABOR, SOLELY AT EDCO’S OPTION, SUBJECT TO THE TERMS, CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS STATED IN THIS CERTIFICATE. EDCO’S LIABLILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE DEFECTIVE SIDING PRODUCT, PLUS LABOR WHERE APPLICABLE.

In the event that applicable consumer law prohibits the disclaimer of an implied warranty, the above Limited Warranty shall not extend the period of any such implied warranty. Some states do not allow limitations for consumers on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have additional rights, which vary from state to state.
